Festival Season

We are into that time of year again – Woo Hoo!  I am a vendor at the Mission Falls Market here in St. Ignatius on Fridays 5-7 pm,

and will be at the MADE Fair at the Missoula County Fairgrounds in August,

also the Arts Festival at the Ninepipes Museum of Early Montana on July 7, I also sell items in their gift store

and the Cherry Festival in Polson July 22-22. Busy time of year!

I love the “Festival Season”.  It’s a time of long days and hard work, but after a long cold winter, it is great to get out and about with people buzzing around.

So take advantage of the warmer weather and go to a festival!!

Spring – Finally!!

Just when you thought winter would never end, it suddenly does, then doesn’t, then does….

Cold and rainy right now, by I am actually on top of the gardening tasks!  Tomorrow the sheep get sheared, and I will be up to my elbows in fleeces to skirt, wash, pick, card and spin, then dye, or dye then spin. Or maybe just leave natural, especially Mousses’ fleece, an awesome dark chocolate brown.

Our local farmer’s market starts tomorrow too.  The Mission Falls Market in St. Ignatius, Montana.  Sadly, I may actually miss the opening market depending on what time the shearer can get here, the weather and Lord knows what else.  But I am ready for it – *she says cautiously.

So, hoorah!  Welcome spring to Northwestern Montana.  We have been waiting for you!

Pray for Montana

It’s hot and smokey today with no rain in sight for the foreseeable future.  Pray for the states with fires raging.

When you know you’re supposed to be doing something….

OK, I admit it.  I’m kinda flaking out today.  I have a bad habit of working 35, 40 days straight, then crashing like the Hindenburg. I get all excited about the latest project, and do nothing but that until it’s done – or, like now, nearly done.  So tomorrow I go back at it.  Maybe it’s the hot weather.  Maybe the rest will do me some good.  Maybe I need to get off my butt and do something so I don’t guilt for the rest of the day! Or maybe – not.

A hot summer day.

It’s hot and dry here in NW Montana! We haven’t had rain in weeks and the temps have been in the 90’s.  My sheep are NOT happy. As much as I like not having to bundle up like the Sta-Puff Man, the heat and I don’t get along.

Last night we had a hot dry wind with smoke from the Wild Fires in the area.  I was very happy to have clear air when I took the sheep to the lower pasture this morning!!
